🧵 Tissue Box Cover Base:

Foundation:
Chain 13 and turn. HDC 12 stitches, or use a foundation HDC chain of 12. Chain 1 and turn.
Rows 1–12:
HDC across (12 stitches), chain 1, turn.
Row 13:
HDC 12, chain 1 (do not turn).

Row 14:
Now start working around the square. SC evenly down each side. Make 2 SC in each corner. Slip stitch to join. (Total: 52 SC)
Row 15:
Ch 1, SC around the square again in the back loops only. Do not slip stitch at the end. From here on, we work in the round. (52SC)
Rows 16–19:
HDC around, picking up all 3 loops. (52 stitches)

Row 20:
HDC 18, chain 6, skip 6 stitches (for the tissue opening), HDC 28. (52)
Row 21:

Rows 22–25:
HDC 52.

Row 5:

Rows 6–8:

Row 9:
Skip 1st SC, SC 8, skip next SC, SC in last stitch. Ch 1, turn (10 SC).
Row 10:
SC 4, (HDC, DC, ch 1), (DC, HDC), SC 4. (12 stitches plus 1 chain)
Finish:
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing to the face.

Ears (Make 2):

Round 1:
6 SC in a magic loop, ch 1, turn.

Round 2:
Increase each stitch (12 SC), ch 1, turn.

Rounds 3–4:
SC 12, ch 1, turn.

Finish:
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing to the sides.

 Eyes (Make 2):

  1. Start with black yarn: 6 SC in a magic loop.
