Materials

  • 1 skein of Anne yarn with shine

  • 1 skein of shiny plain yarn (an older yarn; use a similar one of your choice)

  • 3 mm crochet hook (Clover brand or similar)

  • Scissors for finishing

Instructions

Beginning
Work with both yarns held together.
Create a magic ring.
Inside the ring, chain 3 (counts as your first double crochet).
Work a total of 8 double crochets inside the ring, counting the initial chains.
Pull the ring tight to close.

Row 2
Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet).
Turn the work (wrong side facing).
In the space between the double crochets, work 2 double crochets.
Chain 1 between each set.
Repeat: 2 double crochets between stitches, separated by 1 chain.
At the end, work 1 double crochet into the last stitch.

Row 3
Chain 4 (3 for height + 1 for space).
Turn the work.
In the space between the two double crochets of the previous row:
Work 1 double crochet, 1 chain, 1 double crochet (creating a “V” stitch).
Chain 1, and in the next space, work 1 double crochet alone.
Alternate between V stitches and single double crochets.

Note: After the second “V” stitch, do not chain between the “V” and the single double crochet to avoid crowding the stitches.

Row 4
Chain 4 (3 for height + 1 for space).
Inside each “V” from the previous row:
Work 2 double crochets, 2 chains, and 2 double crochets (all in the same space).
Without chaining, move to the isolated double crochet from the previous row:
Work 1 front post double crochet (FPDC).

Keep repeating:
2 double crochets, 2 chains, 2 double crochets inside the “V”.
1 FPDC around the single double crochet.

Final Tips

  • Right side: Remember that the right side of your work is where you started.

  • Care: Always pick up both strands together to maintain even shine throughout the project.

  • Finishing: Keep increasing rows following the pattern until the bag reaches the desired size.

And there you have it!
Your shiny crochet bag is ready to shine wherever you go.
I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did creating it!
Don’t forget to leave a comment and share your version with me – I’d love to see what colors and yarns you choose.
See you in the next tutorial – and happy crocheting! ✨🧶
