Step-by-Step Instructions:

Row 1: Start by double crocheting (DC) in the 5th chain from the hook.
Chain 1, skip one stitch, then DC in the next stitch. Chain 1 again.
Repeat this sequence across the row. To finish the row, DC in the last stitch. Chain 3 and turn your work.

Row 2: The chain 3 will count as your first DC and chain 1. Skip the chain 1 space and DC into the second DC from the previous row. Then, DC into the chain 1 space.
Continue this until you have 7 DCs in a row.
Chain 1, then DC into the 3rd chain 1 space.
Now it’s time to create your first Puff Stitch (PS). Chain 1 and pull up your yarn to extend it. Yarn over (YO), insert your hook into the next DC, pull up a loop, and extend the yarn again. Repeat this process a total of 5 times.
YO and pull through all loops on the hook, chain 3, and single crochet (SC) in the same stitch to secure the puff.
Continue working in the same chain 1 space by making another DC and chain 1. Repeat this process to create 4 puff stitches in total.

Repeat for the Rest of the Row: Skip two DCs, then DC into the 3rd DC, and DC into the next chain 1 space.
Continue working 7 DCs, chain 1, then create 4 more puff stitches in the same way.
To end the row, after your last 7 DCs, chain 1 and finish with a DC in the last chain 3 space. Chain 3 and turn.

Row 3 (Change Colors Here): Attach a new color and chain 3. Skip the first chain 1 space and DC in the next stitch.
Keep making DCs across until you have 7 in a row.
Now fold the puff stitches from the previous row to expose the 4 DCs underneath. Work a front post double crochet (FPDC) into each of these 4 DCs.
Chain 1 and continue working DCs in the next 7 DCs across the row.
To finish, chain 1 and DC in the center of the last chain 3. Chain 3 and turn.

Row 4: Repeat the same process as Row 3 but work the Puff Stitches in the FPDCs from the previous row.
Finish the row by working 7 DCs, chaining 1, and DC in the center of the last chain 3 space.

Continue the Pattern: Repeat Rows 3 and 4, changing colors on every other repeat (e.g., rows 5, 7, 9, etc.).
